Feedback on Greenwood Hotel. (Hospitality and Gastronomy) located in North Sydney (New South Wales)
Overview
You ever stumble upon a place that just feels right? The Greenwood Hotel in North Sydney is kinda like that. Nestled on Blue Street, it’s hard to miss this beautiful sandstone building. It’s got history, built back in 1878 as a school, and was reincarnated as a lively pub in ‘92.
Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s not a Michelin star kinda joint. The food is your typical pub fare — decent but not mind-blowing. I mean, I once had a steak that was a tad too close to rare for my liking. But honestly? You go for the vibe more than the nosh.
Speaking of vibes, the outdoor seating is something special. When the sun’s out, it’s the place to be. Perfect for a catch-up with mates or just chillin’ after a long day at work. There’s even a little fire pit for those chillier nights! And how good is the music? They throw some cool dance events on weekends, and, let’s just say, it often gets packed with backpackers mingling with locals.
On a hot day, though, be warned — it can feel like a sauna inside since they skimp on AC. But the location’s killer, right above the Greenwood Plaza, so getting there is a breeze.
If you’re visiting, maybe check out their 2-for-1 pizza deal on Thursdays. And yes, the drinks can be on the pricey side, but hey, that’s Sydney for you!
In a nutshell? Greenwood Hotel is a solid pick for after-work drinks or Sunday chill sessions. And you know what? I’ve always found the staff to be friendly and accommodating, which goes a long way, doesn’t it?
