So, I recently strolled into a little gem on St Georges Terrace called Authentic Bites Dumpling House. Honestly, it kinda feels like a mixed bag, but it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in Perth and craving dumplings.
First off, the portions are downright generous. You won’t walk away hungry, that’s for sure. But there’s this little catch, right? A lot of folks are saying that the flavor can be a tad… mild? I tried the peanut chili oil dumpling that everyone raves about - at $12.50, it’s solid for lunch and comes piping hot. But I can’t shake off the notion that they might need a spice intervention.
Service? Well. It’s speedy, but not without its quirks. The staff seem to have a bit too much fun chatting among themselves, which left me feeling kinda invisible. Some customers even had their orders forgotten—ouch! Still, I can’t deny there’s some friendly folks in there too, so it’s somewhat of a rollercoaster vibe.
They’re open for lunch on weekdays, which is perfect if you need a quick bite in the middle of a busy day. Want to grab something to-go? Yep, that’s an option too. Just keep in mind they’re closed on weekends, which feels a little off for a dumpling joint, right?
